So you know how much I love apartment rentals while I’m traveling, right? Well the pictures below were of our apartment in Bratislava, Slovakia. I traveled to Bratislava with my mom and we both loved this place. We were about a 15 minute walk from the center of town and the apartment rental had everything we needed including a washing machine (but no dryer). Dryers aren’t super common in Europe so that is pretty normal.
We had some problems in the apartment the first night and guess what? The owner showed up the next morning and took care of everything, and she brought us breakfast to say sorry for the inconvenience. Wasn’t that nice? She also had a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived in the apartment.
This apartment had 1 bedroom and a pullout couch. I always want to give my mom the bedroom but she insists on taking the couch. She pulls the mom card so I can’t say anything about that. Do you travel with your mother? This post on traveling with your mother gives you helpful hints on how to enjoy it.
Sometimes you will have apartments that are laid out in ways you aren’t accustomed to. Having a bathroom in the kitchen wasn’t exactly what we expected but it was ok.
When you are looking for your apartment rental, it’s good to filter by number of beds and number or rooms. If it’s important to have your own bedroom when traveling with others, then make sure you pay attention to the number of rooms. This rental had 2 beds but only 1 bedroom, as one bed was in the living room.
There was a bottle of wine left in our apartment for us when we checked in. That is always a nice touch, do you agree?
