Did You Know You Can Now Have Your Checked Bags Delivered To Your Destination?

September 2, 2013 by Roni Filed Under: Flying, Planning, Travel

Yep, it’s true. You can now have your checked bag(s) delivered to your final destination as long as that destination is less than 100 miles from your arrival airport. The company is called Bags VIP and they work with many major airlines. Of course there is a fee, it starts at $29.95 for the first bag (why don’t they just say $30? Who do they think they are kidding with that?).

It’s a pretty cool service, one that you may want to take advantage of. As you know, I almost never check a bag so this isn’t something I would need but I figured you would appreciate knowing about this, if this is new information to you.

So what’s the catch? Well, you have to check your bag at the airport which means you still have to pay the normal fee your airline charges. The fee you pay to have Bags VIP deliver your bags to your final destination is separate from the baggage fee charged by the airline.

So if you are flying and it costs $25 to check your bag and you want to use the Bag VIP service, you will have to pay $25 (checked bag fee) + $29.95 (Bags VIP fee)= $54.95. For some the fee would be worth it,  others would think paying that much is crazy. The good thing is, it’s your choice. I’m just passing on the information. I hope this has been helpful.
