This past weekend I went to the 16th Annual Discovery Ball at the California Science Center.
I could say I was invited because I’m such an awesome blogger and they wanted me there. But the truth is that I got to go because of my father’s affiliation with the Science Center. But hey, I’ll take it!
Every year before they introduce a new exhibit to the public they introduce it to a small group (well, several hundred anyway) and allow us to have a sneak preview of what’s to come.
This year the exhibit is all about Pompeii. If you have never been to the Science Center you really should make your way to visit. It’s filled with tons of different exhibits and whether you have kids or not you will enjoy the time you spend here.
So here area few pics of the gala, I had a blast and it was incredible to eat in the entryway of the Coliseum! I didn’t even know that was possible!
I have no idea why I took this picture sideways, I hadn’t even had anything to drink.
This year the exhibit is Pompeii so everything leading up to the dinner reflected that.
We were whisked away on our ‘chariots’ to dinner. This is me taking a selfie (I totally don’t do those often, it’s just not my thing. That’s the back of my dad’s head).
When we got to dinner (which was outside of the Coliseum) the ladies were given pashminas in case we got cold. Wasn’t that a lovely touch?
And then we danced under the space shuttle Endeavour. That had to be one of the coolest things ever!
And here are some pics of me and my family. Not a bag looking bunch, right?
That’s me and my pops. This is a picture of a picture that we took that night. All of these pics were taken from my Samsung Note 2.
My mom made my dress! What do you think?
Looks like a great event and how special to spend it with your family! I love the dress your mother made!
It was, and I always enjoy being with my family. Thanks so much for commenting!
Now I understand the volcano!
haha…context is everything! Thanks for reading it!
