I was on a flight today when I saw this bad airplane behavior in action so I snapped a picture quickly so I could share it with you.
This is completely unacceptable. Her legs are right up on the back of this passengers seat and if you have ever had someone do this to you, you know how annoying this is. This girl is placing all of her leg weight on the back of the seat so the person in front of her is feeling that in his back.
Have you done this before? If so, PLEASE stop. You have space (albeit small) for your legs in front of you, NOT in the back of the passenger. When you are on a plane, please give some consideration to the people around you.
Everyone is cramped but that doesn’t give you the right to show bad airplane behavior. The girl sitting in the seat next to me was really nice, she seemed to be a cool person so I was surprised that she would keep her knees in the back of this seat like this.
If I was in the seat in front of her, I would have no problem asking the person very nicely to please not do that. But I would be extremely nice, you won’t get very far with people if you are nasty or snarly at all. Please don’t feel afraid to speak up if someone is exhibiting behaviors on a plane that are directly affecting your seat. You have the right to fly in relative comfort.
This is just terrible. There is nothing like trying to rest with a constant thump and bump coming from the person sitting behind you. SMH.
I felt so bad for the person sitting in front of her! Thanks for stopping by!
YEP. I’ve def dealt with this before and it is VERY annoying!
It makes me what to slap someone!
I have definitely had people do this! Way too much traveling, and unfortunately some people are obviously first-time travelers. My favorite thing on an airplane though is as soon as the seatbelt sign goes off, and EVERYONE stands up immediately- you aren’t going anywhere anytime soon!
I always wonder about that as well. Or when they start lining up before boarding. Um…you have an assigned seat!
I don’t think kids always think about or understand how their behavior affects the people around them. I have no problem pointing it out – and I really try to drive the point home with my own kids. Probably too much!
Sometimes I really want to say something to the kids but then people get a bit testy when it comes to their children so I just put my headphones on and try not to be too irritated!
Totally agree!!! I’m a frequent traveler as well and this drives me batty!! People have no consideration for other people anymore!! #SITSBlogging
I think it’s the lack of even trying to be considerate is part of the problem as well. Thanks for stopping by!
Perhaps she didn’t realize this is annoying. My hats off to the flight attendants that have to put up with some bad behavior everyday.
I definitely do NOT like when people do this to the back of my seat. Let’s face it, we are all cramped on an airplane and must do everything we can to not make the experience any more uncomfortable for each other! Happy to find your blog via #SITSBlogging!
This is the worst! Many times I have someone’s knees in my back. How about little kids kicking the back of the seat? I have had many trips with thumping on my back and the parents do not say a word to them, nor do they get them to stop. So glad I found your blog through the #SITSBlooging! Have a great week!
Little kids feet are the worst, especially when the parent doesn’t do anything about it. Ugh.
Yes, that really is the most annoying thing! What can we say to them? #SITSBlogging
Something like, “Excuse me, can you move your legs please? They are pushing on my seat.” I think most reasonable people would say sorry, I’m sure she didn’t even realize it which is hard for me to believe but I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt!
Some people just do not care about what others feel. Very sad. I have not personally had this sort of experience, thankfully, but did once have a passenger say very loudly that my child should be removed! She was peeking over the seat behind her, on her first flight, four years old and very curious. Once she was settled she was fine, but I thought the other passenger was not very nice 🙁
No fun at all! It’s been a while since I was on a plan, but I couldn’t imagine a whole flight like that.
At least it wasn’t a really long flight!
I would have said something too. Airplane rides are uncomfortable enough on there own!
I really wanted to say something to her but it wasn’t my place and the guy in front of her wasn’t complaining. Thanks for stopping by!
Its a shame that people don’t seem to care about how they treat others anymore. I’m always conscious of my behavior on a plane because of how cramped it is. For example, my husband makes fun of how gently I place the tray up and down. It always seems that I have a person behind me that doesn’t care and I never have the nerve to say anything. #SITSBlogging
That’s the thing, common courtesy is out of the window, people don’t even think about others at all. It’s unfortunate.
I only say something if they keep doing it. You would think they would get that they are being disruptive, right?
That makes me even more claustrophobic in those small seats.
Visiting from SITS!!
Aren’t they small! I swear they have gotten smaller over the years.
Aren’t’ those seats horrible!
That is unacceptable. It’s even uncomfortable to me me when people recline their seats all the way back and that is their right. lol
I’m the same way with reclining! How dare they hit my computer! Hahaha
I fly one airline exclusively whenever possible. My recent flight was so cramped we were literally on top of one another. I resigned myself to the realization that business class would be the norm. It’s simply too close for comfort. I’m not surprised by the picture or the other disruptions taking place aboard airplanes. I believe it’s a sign of the times and the devaluing of courtesies that were once commonplace.

I totally agree. People are very inconsiderate and common courtesy is almost gone.
People seem to think airplanes are fair game to let loose and act like they are in their own home. I feel for flight attendants and polite passengers when subjected to inappropriate behavior.
Me too! They have to deal with so much!
There are so many bad behaviors. My LEAST favorite of which is not locking the lavatory door. Not only does it keep me from seeing things I don’t want to see; it allows the rest of the plane to see whether or not there is availability before we climb over people to get to the lavatory. Yeah. I’m scarred for life. GREAT POST! Thank you for sharing #SITSBlogging
That’s hilarious! You made me laugh!
First of all I want to say great blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask
if you don’t mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing.
I have had a tough time clearing my thoughts
in getting my thoughts out. I do take pleasure in writing but it
just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend
to be lost simply just trying to figure out how to
begin. Any suggestions or hints? Appreciate it!
