Did You Know You Can Get Homemade Taffy In Ecuador?
When I was in Ecuador I saw so many things that I had never seen before. As we were leaving Los Banos I saw these people making taffy. I had never seen anyone handle it like that, especially on a sidewalk but there were several different people that were doing it and our taxi driver told us it was normal.
In America I don’t think you would see anyone handling food like that without gloves, but when you travel you tend to see things that are different than what you are accustomed to. You have to not think it weird or call it strange, it’s just different because it’s not your norm.
It seemed like hard work because the taffy was hard and not easy to work with. It was obvious by watching that it took lots of strength to pull the taffy and make it bend the way they wanted it to.
