When I travel I like to take pictures of things that I don’t normally see. When I was in Quito I kept seeing people sitting in the back of trucks. Seatbelts are mandatory in the USA, and I am sure there are people that don’t wear them but you hardly ever see a bunch of people sitting in the back of a truck like this. I thought it was interesting and I hope you do as well.
Is it common to see this many people in the back of a truck where you live?
Love this! My Mom’s family is from Ecuador, and it’s pretty much my second home (third? I’m not sure on the order, but it’s up there), so it’s great to see this observation. You’ve probably gone through it yourself where you’ll be the first one to bring things like this (people in the back of trucks) to a local or friend’s attention. They appreciate it most of the time too.
As for Brazil, it’s not that common to see trucks here, but when you do, it’s common to see this as well. It’s a South America thing I’d say. What’d you think of Ecuador? What cities did you see?
Safe travels!
I liked Ecuador. It was very cheap which made us very happy, and getting around the city was super easy although I was surprised at all of the traffic. We stayed in Quito and did day trips from there. I would like to go back and stay in the capital as we weren’t able to visit, and I would like to see the coastline as well. I’ve been to Brazil, we spend two weeks in Rio and had a blast! Thanks for reading and I hope you come back.
Well, it’s unusual for me to see people at the back of truck. In our place, it’s common to see stuffs like bicycle, groceries and errands but not humans. For safety and convenience, it might not be a good to ride on the back of the truck.
I agree with you. I have gotten used to seeing it now since I travel so much but it still surprises me because it seems so unsafe. Thanks for reading!
