If you’ve never been to North Carolina, you’re truly missing out. There are several notable cities within the state from the mountainous Asheville to the coastal Wilmington. Then, there’s Greensboro, Fayetteville, and Charlotte.
My beloved Charlotte.
Charlotte is the 2nd largest city in the state, and is known for its big city attributes coupled with a lot of southern charm. Charlotte is a great place to spend the weekend or enjoy the nightlife—–even with the kids.
Here are a few ways to enjoy a trip to Charlotte with kids.
- Learn more about the festivals and activities 2-3 weeks in advance. You can always catch a nice, cultural event happening in the city.
- Find the local spots and enjoy a taste of true Carolina. How do you know if it’s a local spot? Everyone’s there and smiling. Well, not really; but you get my drift.
- Choose a hotel that allows you to walk or Uber to your scheduled events. Paying for parking should be considered in your trip plans.
- Know which festivals, local spots, events, museums, and restaurants you want to visit before you head into the city. Use my Travel to Charlotte Guide to help you plan out your weekend.
