My stay, my massage, and my breakfast at Ballantyne was comped in exchange for a blog post however I was not told what to write. All thoughts are mine!

2015 Exterior

I recently had a staycation at The Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge in Charlotte. Many of you know how much I love living in Charlotte and now I have one more reason to adore my new hometown.

You guys, this hotel is beyond fabulous. And it’s not just the regalness of the hotel itself but what makes it special is the people that work there. Everyone I came in contact with was so kind and went out of their way to give me great customer service.

My staycation started out with a Carolina Lavender Body Wrap. Sounds lush, right? It was. Before I even got to my spa treatment I was given a locker that has a digital lock so I could leave my belongings without having to carry a key. Inside the locker was a super plush robe that I seriously didn’t want to take off. It was so soft on my skin I immediately felt relaxed. I was then shown the waiting room where I was able to get a few healthy snacks and enjoy the serenity as I waited for my therapist.

My body was exfoliated beautifully by Olga, my super friendly and professional therapist. My plan was to stay awake so I could remember every detail so I could then come back and share everything with you guys. Yeah…that didn’t happen.

I was so relaxed as Olga scrubbed locally grown lavender all over my body I could barely remember my name.  Then I got up and washed all of the scrub off of me in a shower with a killer view (see pic below). The shower has great water pressure and there is a seat inside the shower as well which is so convenient.

After my shower I laid back on the table and Olga massaged my scalp and my feet. I think at that point she could have asked me for my firstborn and I would have obliged. She said, ” Your snore is the only sound I want to hear.” Then a few minutes later I woke myself up with a snort. Good times. After my treatment I relaxed a bit in the lounge while having my free glass of champagne.

If you are a local you can buy a spa service and use the facilities all day. That includes both indoor and outdoor pools!

If the spa isn’t your thing no worries, there is a golf course, a jogging map (they give you a map in your room!) tons of cozy nooks with seating areas, a restaurant, a couple of bars and two pools for you to choose from.

Look at the entryway. It’s hard not to feel like royalty walking into this!

My room overlooked the golf course and there was a beautiful view of the sunrise from my room. The bed was extra comfy and not just “oh this is nice for a hotel room bed” but more of a “Oh my goodness how did the hotel get this bed to be so soft and do I have to get up ever?”

The bathroom was super swank and check out the bathtub!

It was so nice to have a good cup of coffee (or two) before I went down for breakfast.

The gallery restaurant is where I had delicious meals served to me by extremely friendly and attentive waiters.

A staycation is a fabulous way to get away without leaving your city. It’s cost effective as well because you can completely immerse yourself in luxury for a night or two and not have to break your budget in order to do it. Or if you just want a daycation, this is the perfect place for it. With one spa purchase you get to use all the amenities of the hotel and still be able to go home at night! If you are in the Charlotte area, this is a wonderful option for your staycation needs!

  1. I love this! The hotel just seems so romantic and nice! I typically see Charlotte as a travel or business hub, but your post gave me the idea of having a nice little getaway, considering I am not too far from it, in Tennessee. Great post!
