Queen of Tarts in Dublin, Ireland

December 23, 2012 by Roni Filed Under: Dublin, Ireland, Queen of Tarts, Restaurants

Queen of Tarts in Dublin is very touristy. However, please don’t let that stop you from going there because it is absolutely worth the stop. I only had two days in Dublin and I’m so glad that Queen of Tarts was one of the places I stopped to eat. http://www.queenoftarts.ie

Queen of Tarts is a small little place with seating upstairs, inside, and you can also sit outside. When I was there the place was packed so I had to wait a bit for a table but seriously, I may have waited 10 minutes.

While I was waiting for my table I had a good time looking at all the desserts and taking in all the lovely surroundings.

While sitting at my table of course I had to snap some pics of what was going on around me. Plus, isn’t it always nice to see what’s going on? (that’s just a nice way of saying I’m nosy.) As you can see, the restaurant was totally decked out with holiday decorations and normally I don’t like lots of stuff around everywhere but it looked great in this space.

When I sat down my plan was just to have dessert but then I started looking around and saw everyone eating and all of a sudden I was hungry. I ordered a red onion, potato, cheddar cheese & rosemary tart which was served with salad and a chutney sauce that added just the right touch of sweetness.

Veggie quiche

I normally drink coffee but it seemed fitting to have tea while I was here.

After I ate my delicious lunch I didn’t have any room for dessert, and since I was still walking around I couldn’t even take one home to share with my friends (where would I have kept it while walking around? See my dilemma?) I’m writing this a week after I was at Queen of Tarts and I’m still thinking about my meal. It was the perfect balance of flavor and I didn’t feel overly full when I was finished. If you travel to Dublin, please eat here, I really can’t imagine you would be disappointed.
