Packing Toiletries

Packing toiletries can sometimes be a challenge so I’m constantly trying to find better suggestions for you.  As I’m typing this I’m on a flight and I ordered some wine (surprise, surprise) and as I’m looking at the bottle an idea pops into my head.

It’s too big to be packed in my carry-on bag but then I thought about you. You may be the person that isn’t quite ready to not check a bag but you still don’t want to have the full-sized products with you when you travel.  So I think this bottle (or something like it) would be perfect for you.

This container can be washed out and used to store your shampoo, conditioner, or whatever liquid you need more than 3ounces of while you travel (this bottle is a little more than 6 ounces).  I try to save money whenever I can so if you are like me and don’t mind reusing items, this is a perfect solution for some of your packing needs.

If you look around your home at things that come in small bottles, think about washing them out once you have finished whatever item was inside of it then using it when you travel. Put a label on it so you can be sure to know what it is when it’s in your suitcase and you will be all set!

What do you think? Is this sized bottle something you would be able to use while you are traveling?

  1. This sounds like a lovely idea. I do wonder, would rinsing it out with vinegar remove all traces of the alcohol smell? Very helpful tip.

  2. That’s pretty smart! I don’t know if I ever go on trips long enough to need more than 3 ounces, but if you traveled a lot for long periods I could see how that might be helpful. Too bad there aren’t screw-top beer bottles, since beer is actually good for your hair. 😉

    1. I don’t need more than 3 ounces either and I would LOVE to find 3 ounce beer bottles! That could come in handy on the plane:-)
