One of the cool things about being a blogger is I get asked to do some dope things. This is definitely one of the highlights for me, being a mentor for The Passport Party Project. Fifteen girls from across the country will be traveling to Toronto in less than a month with the heart and brains behind this organization, Tracey Friley (who happens to be a National Geographic Traveler Of The Year).
Many of the other mentors have talked about the benefits of this fab organization and this piece written by Chelle of BrownGirlFly was featured on Matador! so I simply want to introduce you to the lovely young ladies that will be taking this trip.
They had to compete for their spot by answering a series of questions (which I got to read and some of their answers made me laugh outloud!). I’ve been mentoring Kaitlin and I’ve been able to get to know her (she’s the first one featured below) and if she is a representative of the quality of young girls traveling to Toronto then Toronto is in for a treat!
They girls are able to take this trip thanks to wonderful sponsors that care about educating young girls. Thank you Tourism Toronto an Heys Luggage for your generous support and all the other sponsors (see a full list of the sponsors by clicking here) that are making dreams come true.
These are phenomenal women in the making and I’m truly proud to be a part of this organization.
How wonderful is this post?! Seeing all of these new Teen Travel Ambassadors in one place makes me even more excited (if that’s even possible!) as we gear up for departure to Toronto in less than 30 days! Having you serve as a volunteer Travel Mentor is an experience I know your teen will never forget! Thanks for helping plant the seeds of global citizenship and for believing in the #powerofthepassport!
So cool to see all of the girls in one place. What an amazing time they’re going to have and I’m betting the impact they have on the works as a result will be huge!
I love seeing all the girls in one place. it really brings it all together. It’s like I’m in a room with them all. So proud to be a mentor and can’t wait to hear about their experience. Power to the passport!
