I was really excited about seeing the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial while I was in Washington DC. This is the view you will see if you enter from West Basin Dr SW, just in front of West Potomac Park. I rode my bike along Independence Ave SW from the Korean War Veterans Memorial and turned right on West Basin Drive SW. The Martin Luther King Jr Memorial is on the left hand side.

I took this side view so you could see how big it is, I figured the kids in the pic would give you a pretty good idea of its scope.

Along the walls of the memorial are saying of Martin Luther King Jr.

I had never heard him say this before, I think this it is so true and I think traveling helps give us a world perspective.

I think the carving looks a lot like him, what do you think?

View from King Memorial, the big white structure is the Jefferson Memorial across the way and the water is called the tidal basin. This is where the cherry blossoms bloom in March.

What do you think of this memorial?
