I took this picture in the back of a New York taxi a couple of months ago. See that credit card reader? That means this taxi was supposed to take credit cards. When I asked the driver if I could add the tip to the transaction he told me the machine wasn’t working. Of course he didn’t tell me that until AFTER I got into the taxi and we were already on our way which really irritated me.
I was in a hurry because I was already late so I decided to stay in the taxi and not make an issue of it. Thankfully I had cash on me to pay the bill but I learned a lesson (see, we are never too experienced to learn!). Before I get into a cab I must ask the driver if the machine works. So learn from my mistake, ok?
