What are my meal options the day of the Bush Walk?

A lodge lunch is included and you can order from the lunch time a la carte menu which includes burgers, toasted sandwiches, salads, pizza, etc.

Is the Bush Walk something I can do outside of the group? Of do we have to do it together?

This is something that has to be done together, as there is a set time and the guide(s) for this activity have already been allocated. It is about an hour and a half to 2 hours and very relaxed. It is not a long walk but very interesting as you can learn about the flora and fauna of the region.

I want to go but I am traveling alone. Is there a single supplement?

No there is not. Everyone pays the same price on this tour.

Do I need a visa?

Do I need a passport?

Yes. No matter what country you are traveling from, you must have a valid passport. For American citizens, please check out the requirements here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/need-passport/apply-in-person.html

Will you help me find a flight?

Of course I will! Once your deposit is made, you will have access to our exclusive Facebook group. I will be giving you details on the trip and help you as much as you need.

I’m a Vegan/Vegetarian/have allergies. What are my meal choices?

As long as our chef and the lodge is aware of your dietary restrictions, they are happy to accommodate you and your taste buds.

Do I need to be vaccinated to travel to South Africa?

Please check out the latest information from the CDC https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/south-africa

Will you be with us the whole time?

Probably not. I will be on the trip with you, but I have many things to do behind the scenes so there will be times where I won’t be able to join you

What are my meal options on the safari?

The lodge includes a picnic lunch which the guides take on their vehicles. You will stop at a rest camp where they will set up the picnic and you will have a chance to do a bit of shopping at the curio shop.

What if I want to share a room to split the cost?

This trip has not been priced based on room occupancy, so every person pays the same price.

What are my options outside of being at the resort?

The lodge is about 40 minutes to the local town. Uber or Lyft are not available in this part of South Africa, but if you let the lodge know in advance (a day before is perfect) they can organize it. NOTE: This transportation fee is NOT included in your trip price and would need to be paid to the staff at Timvati Lodge.

Is there a set time for breakfast?

Every morning we will have a set time to leave the property. You will have the option of having breakfast from 7am up until 30 minutes before departure time.

Do I have to do everything planned on this tour?

No you do not. There are no portions of this tour that can be refunded, but you are free to opt out of any activity we have planned.

If you’re saying South Africa is safe, why is travel insurance mandatory?

One has nothing to do with the other. Because we live in uncertain times, we must take necessary percautions. I buy travel insurance for every country I travel to, and I will not travel with anyone who does not purchase it.
