With the impending threat of Hurricane Irma which has now been updated to a category 5, many airlines are doing the right thing and waiving fees for customers who meet certain criteria. If you are supposed to travel to the areas that will be affected by Irma, please check your airline to see what your options are.
As of September 5th, 2017, Florida and The Caribbean have issued a state of emergency as the winds have gotten up to 175MPH.
There are many people that are still planning on traveling to Florida and the Caribbean. Please don’t be one of them as there is no vacation worth flying into a hurricane. Even if by some chance you have to lose your money because your airline or hotel won’t let you cancel without penalties, it’s worth it. Being safe is much better than being sorry.
