Have you ever heard of Grand Park in Downtown Los Angeles? If you aren’t familiar with Downtown you may be surprised by the 12 acres of green space located between the Music Center and City Hall. It’s open from 5:30am-10:00pm daily.

I was here around 2pm on a weekday and there weren’t many people around. It was such a wonderful way to pass some time because the water fixtures are lovely and the pink chairs are beautiful.

The water would be a great place to bring your kids so they could play. The splash pad has interactive jets that kids (and grownups!) would love. And since it’s almost always hot in Los Angeles this would be an ideal way to spend the afternoon. And if you just want to sit and enjoy the ambiance you can get a coffee at Starbucks. Yep, there is a Starbucks.

Do you have a dog? You can bring your doggie here and let him walk on the grass. But, your pet must be on a leash.

There are all kinds of activities that go on throughout the week as well. There is a Farmer’s Market on Tuesdays from 10-2, they have yoga, concerts and many more activities for you to choose from. If you are in the L.A. area, why not stop by?

I’m participating in NaBloPoMo for the month of November!
