If you’re going to be in Paris, you may want to make your way to DuPont Cafe. It’s right at the exit of Metro Convention which is on line 12. Once you go up the escalator you will see it directly in front of you. It’s one of my favorite places to meet friends and catch up with all the news I’ve missed since moving back to the States and the fact that they have delicious salads doesn’t hurt.
That’s thinly sliced duck, a block of fois gras, avocados, and tomatoes. Yummy.
Typically when you order a meal in Paris you will get a basket of bread. I almost always order wine and never a soft drink, or I’ll just have water. You will find that most Parisians don’t drink soda with their meals. That’s a very North American thing (so is eating meat well done but I’ll talk about that in another post).
So…yeah. I liked my salad. See the basket of bread? Yep, I killed it.
There was a gentleman sitting at a table closer to the street and I was in the interior of the restaurant. I zoomed way in to get this shot, but doesn’t it look like he was right in front of me? He wasn’t. But I just thought it was so neat that he was sitting at his table, drinking his coffee and reading in his native language. And the fact that I could get such a clear shot of his book made me really happy. If you know what this book is saying, please me know.
